I’m so excited to finally be ticking a skydive off my bucket list and even more excited to be doing it in support of such an incredible cause.

🚨 Fundraising Update 🚨

Monday 8th Jun

I was absolutely gutted not to be able to go ahead with my skydive. Since then, I’ve been trying to find an alternative challenge that’s just as demanding, and one that I’m actually allowed to do. Wing walking was also ruled out!

But the fundraising team at Demelza have come up with something… 🙈

Instead, I’ll be abseiling down The Cheesegrater (The Leadenhall Building) in London on Friday 19th June. That’s around 200 metres down the side of one of London’s most iconic skyscrapers 😳

I did a charity abseil down Marlowe House, Sidcup back in the 1990s, and at 56 metres that felt like more than enough at the time, so this is nearly four times the height and definitely well outside my comfort zone 🙈

It may not involve jumping out of a plane, but it’s going to be a challenge for sure!

An Important Update on My Skydive Challenge 😞

Tuesday 19th May

I’m really sad to share that, following medical advice, I can no longer do the skydive 😔

A blood clot that was expected to have resolved hasn’t, and it turns out it’s actually two clots totalling five times the size of what I was initially told. Things are moving in the right direction, but I’ve been advised that I’ll need to remain on blood thinners long term, so it’s just too risky.

I’m absolutely gutted, especially after all the incredible support and generosity from everyone who donated. Thank you so much, it means more than I can say.

Rather than cancelling altogether, I’m hoping to transfer this to another challenge that feels just as meaningful, and I’ll share details as soon as that’s confirmed.
