For Poppy. Always 🩷

Running the London Marathon for Demelza Hospice Care for Children is deeply personal to me and my family.
On 26th April 2025, my son Lewis and his partner Yasmin experienced the unimaginable loss of their beautiful daughter, Poppy, at just 9 and a half weeks old, due to a rare genetic condition. In the midst of that heartbreak, Demelza became a source of comfort, compassion, and strength. They provided not only practical support, but also emotional care that helped my family navigate the most difficult time of our lives.
The kindness and dignity they showed meant that Poppy's short life was surrounded by love, and that Lewis and Yasmin were supported every step of the way. That is something we will never forget.
Taking on the London Marathon is my way of honouring Poppy's memory and saying thank you. I want to give back to a charity that gives so much to families facing the unimaginable. By running, I hope to help ensure that other families continue to receive the same care, compassion, and support when they need it most.
This is more than just a race for me. It is a tribute to Poppy, a thank you to Demelza, and a promise to help them continue their vital work for families now and in the future.
