I'm running the London Marathon 2027 for Demelza

As many of you know, our darling daughter, Olive, died from a rare heart disease, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, in 2024 and we have had the best care and ongoing support from Demelza. From the time of her death, respite as a family in the early days at Demelza’s Sittingbourne site and to now through regular counselling and support.

Their support is exactly what we needed to navigate the void and the grief that Olive’s death brought into our lives.

Demelza delivers extraordinary care to extraordinary children who are facing serious or life-limiting conditions, throughout Kent, South East London and East Sussex. They support kids and their families with expert clinical, emotional and practical support at every step from first diagnosis and for as long as were needed.

When needed, Demelza are there; to reassure, to guide and to care, helping to create joy in family life during challenging times and making precious memories.

This is exactly what they gave us, we have such precious memories of Olive and Demelza will always have a special place in our heart for the incredible care and support they gave us.

Since Olive, I have fallen in love with running, running all distances from 5k up to half marathon, achieving nearly 20 personal bests in 2 years and I have the absolute privilege to run for Demelza at the London Marathon 2027.

Running, let alone the London Marathon, motivates me to be the best role model to our son, Arthur, showing him that he can anything that he puts his mind to. Hard things are conquerable and hard work pays off.

Any donation is so welcome and appreciated, and boosts the chance to support Demelza with their incredible work and the families they bless each and every day
