A little bit about me
Wednesday 29th JulThis year, I’m incredibly proud to be running the London Marathon in support of Demelza.
I recently graduated from university with a degree in Multimedia Sports Journalism, which was a huge milestone in my life. I’ve always found school environments challenging, so earning my degree and writing my dissertation at the same time as training for and running my first marathon is something I’m incredibly proud of. It’s a reminder that hard work and perseverance really do pay off.
Running has also been a huge part of my life since 2018. In September 2022, I completed my very first half marathon, and from that moment I fell in love with running even more. Ever since then, it has been one of my biggest goals to complete a marathon, especially the London Marathon. To now have the opportunity to achieve that dream is something I’m incredibly grateful for.
Growing up, I watched my dad achieve so many of his sporting goals, and his determination inspired me to challenge myself and see what I was capable of. Through running, I’ve found a real sense of happiness. Whether I’m training or racing, I love smiling the whole way round, encouraging other runners and sharing the joy that running brings.
The London Marathon will be especially meaningful, as it will be my first time taking part in the event and only my second marathon. I can’t wait to finally run the race I grew up watching. As a child, I spent many London Marathons helping out at the water stations while cheering on my dad and the thousands of other runners taking on this incredible challenge. To now be on the other side of that experience, running the course alongside my dad, is something I’ve dreamed about for years.
