I'm running the London Marathon for Demelza
For me, running has always been about challenging myself and sharing experiences with great friends.
In April 2027 I’ll be taking on my biggest challenge yet as I run the London Marathon for Demelza Children’s Hospice.
I’ll be running alongside one of my closest friends, Lindsey Clarke. We’ve known each other for nearly 25 years, and over that time we’ve shared plenty of miles together. We both run with Sittingbourne Striders and have already completed two marathons side by side:
- Brighton Marathon 2024
- Amstelveen Marathon 2025
Amstelveen was particularly memorable as I achieved a personal best time of 3 hours 32 minutes, but the memories we’ve created together have always meant more than the finishing times.
This time we’re running for something much bigger than ourselves.
Demelza provides incredible care and support for babies, children and young people with serious or life-limiting conditions across Kent, South East London and East Sussex. They also support parents, brothers, sisters and the wider family through some of life’s most difficult moments.
The compassion, specialist care and precious memories they help create make an enormous difference to hundreds of families every year.
Our goal is to raise as much money as possible to help Demelza continue providing this amazing support.
If you’re able to donate—no matter how big or small—we’d be hugely grateful.
Thank you so much for supporting both our marathon journey and this wonderful charity.
Pete
