In Memory of Kane: Supporting the Hospice That Helped Create Precious Memories

There are some people who leave a lasting impact on everyone they meet, no matter how short their time with us. Kane was one of those special people.

At just two years old, Kane touched the hearts of so many. While his time here was far too short, the love he shared and the memories he created with his family will last forever.

During the most difficult chapter of their lives, Demelza Children’s Hospice provided extraordinary care and support to Kane and those who loved him. Their compassion extended far beyond medical care,they helped create precious moments and lasting memories that Kane’s family will treasure forever.

Demelza gave Kane opportunities to enjoy sensory experiences, bringing comfort, joy, and special moments during his time there. They carefully created handprints and footprints that his family can hold onto forever simple but priceless reminders of a little boy who was deeply loved.

What makes Demelza so special is that they care not only for the child but for the entire family. They supported Kane’s parents and loved ones with kindness, understanding, and compassion at a time when they needed it most. They recognised that every family member’s wellbeing matters and helped them navigate an unimaginable journey with dignity and care.

As a friend of Kane’s family, I saw first-hand the difference that hospice support can make. In moments of heartbreak, Demelza helped create memories that will never fade and provided comfort when it was needed most.

Today, I am fundraising in Kane’s memory and to support the incredible work of Demelza Children’s Hospice. The care they provide relies heavily on charitable donations, and every contribution helps ensure that other children and families facing similar circumstances can receive the same outstanding support.
